Dessert Pizza

I had a few friends over last Saturday night for Pizza and Vino. I made a Dessert Pizza for a sweet climax! It was fun to make and fun to eat too! A sugar cookie crust topped with sweetened whipped cream and  fresh fruits. This dessert is simple, light and delicious! Not so light on the calories though 🙂

Here is what you need:

Pizza Crust
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Method:

  1. Lightly grease a 12 inch pizza pan or cookie sheet and pre-heat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. In a mixer cream butter, shortening and sugar. Then add eggs.
  3. In a separate bowl combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  4. Beat flour mixture into butter mixture until it forms a dough.
  5. Press out dough onto pizza pan.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.
Topping
8 oz whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
Fresh fruits
Method:
  1. Whip cream with sugar to soft peaks
  2. Spread over cooled pizza crust
  3. Arrange fruits over whipped cream
